Trade Minister Mehmet Mus will visit Turkmenistan to discuss trade and economic relations

Trade Minister Mehmet Mus will visit Turkmenistan’s capital, Ashgabat, to discuss trade and economic relations.

According to the statement made by the Ministry of Commerce, Minister Mus will meet with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov as part of the visit to be held on February 25.

Mus will also hold bilateral meetings with Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Tsar Gilicov, and Head of the Transport and Communications Agency, Memmethan Cakiyev.

During the visit to be held on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Turkey-Turkmenistan trade and economic relations, as well as investment and contracting issues, will be discussed.

TRADE VOLUME OF THE TWO COUNTRIES IS $1.7 BILLION

The trade volume between Turkey and Turkmenistan amounted to $1.7 billion in 2021 with an increase of 53% compared to the previous year. In this period, while Turkey’s exports to Turkmenistan were $985 million, its imports from the said country were $711 million.

Turkey’s investments in Turkmenistan are at the level of $434 million. Investments from Turkmenistan to Turkey reached $1 million.

To date, 1061 projects worth $50 billion have been undertaken in Turkmenistan by Turkish contractors.
