ISTANBUL, July 23 – The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye’s (CBRT) total international reserves declined by $2.81 billion in the week ending July 17, falling to $160.49 billion from $163.30 billion a week earlier, according to the bank’s latest weekly monetary and banking statistics.
Gross foreign exchange reserves decreased by $1.70 billion to $65.43 billion, compared with $67.12 billion in the previous week. At the same time, gold reserves fell by $1.12 billion, declining from $96.18 billion to $95.06 billion.
The combined decline in foreign currency and gold holdings led to the overall reduction in the CBRT’s reserve position, which remains closely monitored by investors as an indicator of Türkiye’s external financial strength and the central bank’s capacity to support financial stability.
The latest figures follow recent fluctuations in the country’s reserve levels, reflecting changes in foreign exchange assets and gold valuations amid evolving domestic and global market conditions.
