Turkish honey has been exported to 56 countries and exports reached $26 million 226 thousand

Honey exports from Turkey in the first 7 months of the year reached $26 million 226 thousand 544.

Saffet Kalyoncu, Chairman of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association, said that honey was exported from Turkey to 56 countries in 7 months of the year.

Stating that $26 million 226 thousand 544 were obtained in return for 9 thousand 923 tons of honey in this period, Kalyoncu said that 4 thousand 268 tons of honey was sold in the same period of last year and $14 million 910 thousand were obtained.

Noting that honey exports increased by 133% in quantity and 76% in value, Kalyoncu said, “The USA, Germany and Spain were the countries with the highest exports. $9 million 286 thousand 358 of honey was sold to the USA, $3 million 904 thousand 203 to Germany and $3 million 378 thousand 193 to Spain.”

Pointing out that the diversity of countries in honey exports has increased, Kalyoncu noted that different from last year, honey was sold to Slovenia, Peru, Maldives Islands, Denmark, Lebanon, Yemen, Republic of South Africa, Iraq, Venezuela, Barbados, Mauritania, Liberia, Bangladesh, North Macedonia, Taiwan and Portugal during this period.

Expressing that the increase in exports is pleasing, Kalyoncu added that they plan to complete the end of the year with much better figures.
