Turkey’s exports to Italy increased by 24%

Turkey reached a record level in its exports to Italy on a monthly basis in October. Exports to Italy increased by 24% in October compared to the same period of the previous year and reached $1 billion 26 million 126 thousand. Thus, Italy was recorded as the 4th country to which Turkey exports the most.

According to the information compiled from the data of the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TIM), Turkey’s exports increased by 19.2% last month compared to the same period of 2020 and rose to $19 billion 76 million 662 thousand.

Turkey reached a record level in its exports to Italy on a monthly basis in October. Exports to Italy increased by 24% in October compared to the same period of the previous year and reached $1 billion 26 million 126 thousand. Thus, Italy was recorded as the 4th country to which Turkey exports the most.

The top 3 exporting countries in October were Germany with $1 billion 560 million 366 thousand, the United Kingdom with $1 billion 179 million 141 thousand and the USA with $1 billion 150 million 18 thousand.

Italy was recorded as the 3rd country in which Turkey increased its exports the most in terms of value last month. Export sales in Italy increased by $198 million 759 thousand in October compared to the same period of the previous year.

The first two countries where Turkey increased its exports the most in terms of value last month were Spain with $277 million 480 thousand and the USA with $258 million 455 thousand. Turkey realized foreign sales to Spain in the amount of $967 million 976 thousand in October.

The countries with the highest decrease in foreign sales on the basis of value were the United Kingdom with $260 million 803 thousand, Saudi Arabia with $185 million 456 thousand and Slovenia with $58 million 962 thousand. During this period, $11 million 820 thousand were sold to Saudi Arabia and $138 million 655 thousand to Slovenia.

MOST DEMAND FOR THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY WAS FROM ITALY

The automotive industry made the most exports to Italy last month. The automotive industry exported $236 million 122 thousand to Italy in October.

The automotive industry was followed by the steel industry with $170 million 719 thousand, textile and raw materials with $98 million 24 thousand, ferrous and non-ferrous metals with $83 million 431 thousand, chemicals and products with $75 million 746 thousand.

In October, the sectors that increased their exports the most in terms of value compared to the same period of the previous year were steel with $106 million 983 thousand, iron and non-ferrous metals with $37 million 653 thousand, nuts and their products with $32 million 528 thousand, textile and raw materials with $29 million 470 thousand, machinery and parts with $8 million 759 thousand.

In the said period, the hazelnut and its products sector exported $58 million 904 thousand to the country, while the machinery and parts sector exported $47 million 877 thousand.
