UAE ranked first in Turkiye’s export increase

The country where Turkiye’s exports increased the most in terms of value last year was the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with an increase of $2 billion 269 million.

The intense diplomatic traffic initiated between Turkiye and the UAE to strengthen relations in all areas, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic, also had a positive impact on commercial relations.

A $50.7 billion agreement was signed last year as part of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to the UAE. Within the scope of the agreement, it was decided to deepen existing cooperation with the UAE in areas such as energy, transportation, infrastructure, logistics, e-commerce, finance, health, food, tourism, real estate, construction, defense industry, artificial intelligence and advanced technologies.

The UAE stood out among the countries with which Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Simsek had contacts within the scope of the Gulf countries program last year.

UAE was followed by Russia and Saudi Arabia

According to the information compiled from the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), last year, among the countries where Turkiye’s exports increased the most in terms of value, the UAE took the lead with $2 billion 269 million.

The UAE was followed by the Russian Federation with $1 billion 776 million, Saudi Arabia with $1 billion 325 million, France with $889 million, and Algeria with $606 million.

In 2023, Turkiye exported $9 billion 424 million to the Russian Federation, $2 billion 274 million to Saudi Arabia, $9 billion 736 million to France, and $2 billion 518 million to Algeria.

UAE became the 11th country with the most exports

Last year, the UAE became the 11th country to which Turkiye exported the most, with $5 billion 915 million.

The countries to which Turkiye exports the most in 2023 are Germany with $18 billion 462 million, the USA with $12 billion 197 million, the United Kingdom with $11 billion 444 million, Italy with $11 billion 200 million, and Iraq with $9 billion 755 million.

The jewelry industry made the most exports to the UAE with $3 billion 205 million.

The chemical substances and products sector sold products worth $263 million to the country, grains, pulses, oilseeds and their products sold $222 million, electrical and electronics sold $215 million, and aquatic products and animal products sold $190 million.

Exports from Istanbul to the UAE reached $4 billion

Companies from Istanbul made the most exports to the UAE with $3 billion 931 million. Istanbul was followed by Corum with $767 million and Izmir with $175 million.
