In his written statement, Minister Selcuk stated that with the Coral Campaign initiated under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s wife First Lady Emine Erdogan, they aim to provide opportunities for women to write their own stories and to ensure their participation in decision-making mechanisms.

Stating that they are acting in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Selcuk said, “We will establish Coral Forests of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services within the framework of 8 March International Women’s Day events. We will organize a sapling planting event in the Coral Forests areas to be established in 81 provinces starting from March 6-7-8. “

On the other hand, the Ministry sent a circular on the issue to the provincial directorates of Family, Labor and Social Services. In the Circular, it was reminded that, according to the Presidential Decree, the General Directorate on the Status of Women was assigned to prevent all kinds of discrimination against women and to carry out activities and projects to improve women’s human rights, to support studies in this field, and also to work on the advancement of women in all fields, especially in health, education, culture, and social security.

In this context, in cooperation with the Provincial Directorates of Forestry, an event was requested to be held on 6-7-8 March in provinces where sapling planting conditions are appropriate, and in the following days in unsuitable provinces.
