The Turkish natural stone industry does not give up on its biggest export market, the People’s Republic of China. While 7 Turkish companies participated in the Xiamen International Natural Stone Fair, which is the largest natural stone fair in the world, despite the pandemic this year, the Aegean Mine Exporters Association, which has successfully carried out the National Participation Organization of the Xiamen Fair for many years, participated with an info stand this year.
Expressing that they have started their efforts to organize the National Participation Organization of the Xiamen Fair since 2022, Aegean Mineral Exporters Association President Mevlut Kaya informed that in 2021, the number of halls with international participation was reduced from 8 to 2, the fair administration could not provide a visa guarantee for 2021 and there was a quarantine application in China, and that they did not organize a National Participation Organization. Emphasizing that the Turkish natural stone industry has experienced a great recovery with the easing of pandemic conditions in 2021, EMİB President Kaya said, “As the Turkish natural stone industry in January-April 2021, we increased our exports by 26% to reach $620 million and dispersed the dark clouds formed after the pandemic. While the natural stone export we made to China in the first four months of 2020 was $139.5 million, we increased it to $196.5 million with an increase of 41% in the same period of 2021. We invite our Chinese importers to Izmir Marble Natural Stone and Technologies Fair, one of the world’s two largest natural stone fairs to be held in Izmir on 25-28 August 2021.”
Kaya said, “In the Xiamen International Natural Stone Fair, which was canceled due to the pandemic of the Turkish National Participation Organization in 2020, 72 companies will take part in the EMİB organization. With individual participation, around 150 Turkish companies were going to make publicity to China and buyers from all over the world to increase our natural stone exports. In 2022, it will continue the national participation organization in the field in which it participated in previous years. Before the pandemic started, we had delivered the products of Turkish natural stone companies to China as the Aegean Mine Exporters Association. On behalf of our companies, we store these products in China in order to promote them at Xiamen Fair in 2022.”
TURKISH COMPANIES ARE BEING INTRODUCED
At the Xiamen International Natural Stone Fair, which will be open between 18-21 May 2021, at the stand of the Aegean Exporters’ Associations, Turkey’s Guangzhou Commercial Counselor Serdar Afsar will be giving information about the Turkish natural stone industry to natural stone importers from China and all over the world and he will be representing Turkey. The Turkish natural sector and Turkish companies are also promoted to potential buyer companies on China’s social media platform WeChat, where the Turkish natural stone industry is promoted by the Aegean Mineral Exporters Association. This year, “Atlas Marble Ind. & Foreign Trade Ltd., Cekicler Construction Transport Trade ve Ind. Inc., Dimer Marble Construction Industry, Companies Trade Inc., Iltas Mining Ind. and Trade Inc., Leonardo Mermer Madencilik Inc., MRT Mining Industry INC. and Sezgin Marble companies, are participating in Xiamen International Natural Stone Fair. Marble Trend Magazine and Turkish Stone World Magazine magazines that publish for the natural stone industry also took their places at the Xiamen Fair.
