Turkey’s passenger car exports reached $5 billion in the first half of the year

Turkey exported $4 billion 923 million 650 thousand of passenger cars in the first half of the year. In the January-June period, the most passenger car exports were made to France, Italy and Germany. European Union countries had 7 spots of the top 10 countries in passenger car exports.

Turkey exported $4 billion 923 million 650 thousand of passenger cars in the first half of the year. According to the compilation made from the data of Uludag Automotive Industry Exporters’ Association, passenger cars were sold to nearly 100 countries, autonomous regions and free zones in the January-June period.

Passenger car exports received a 34.23% share from the automotive industry’s foreign sales, which made $14 billion 382 million 693 thousand in foreign sales in this period.

The amount of passenger car exports, which was $4 billion 295 million 729 thousand in the January-June period last year, rose to $4 billion 923 million 650 thousand with an increase of 14.6% in the same period of this year.

EXPORTS TO FRANCE INCREASED BY 40%

Looking at the countries to which passenger cars are exported, it is seen that France, which is Turkey’s second main market in the automotive sector, takes the first place. In the first half of the year, exports to this country increased by 39.4% compared to the same period of the previous year, from $677 million 137 thousand to $943 million 968 thousand.

Italy was the second country to export the most passenger cars. Exports to Italy, where $367 million 279 thousand passenger cars were sold in the January-June period of last year, increased by 37.3% to $504 million 281 thousand.

Passenger car exports to Germany, which ranks third, increased by 9.5% and reached $462 million 449 thousand from $422 million 151 thousand.

In exports, Spain ranked fourth with $405 million 862 thousand, the United Kingdom ranked fifth with $395 million 105 thousand, Poland sixth with $239 million 115 thousand, Egypt seventh with $198 million 682 thousand and Belgium eighth with $161 million 934 thousand, Slovenia ranked ninth with $159 million 604 thousand and the United States was tenth with $157 million 661 thousand.

European Union countries had 7 spots of the top 10 countries in passenger car export.

$8 MILLION WORTH OF CAR SOLD TO JAPAN

The increase in the exports of passenger car manufacturers to some countries drew attention.

In the first half of last year, only $38 thousand of passenger cars were exported to Japan, and $8 million 270 thousand of vehicles were sold in the same period of this year.

Increasing its exports to Tunisia by 220%, sector representatives sent cars worth $26 million 510 thousand to this country in the first half of the year.

One of the countries where the sector increased its exports the most was Iraq. In the January-June period of last year, $10 million 651 thousand of passenger cars were sold to Iraq, with an increase of 120% in the same period of this year, $23 million 438 thousand were exported.
