Turkish Tea Gains Recognition in Global Markets

Şaban Turgut, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association and Chairman of the Tea Sector Committee, emphasized the growing recognition of Turkish tea worldwide.

He noted that Turkish tea has been highly appreciated by consumers in export markets. The number of countries, autonomous regions, and free zones importing Turkish tea increased from 119 in 2023 to 122 in 2024.

Highlighting DKIB’s efforts to diversify export markets, Turgut stated:
“During a previous market analysis program in Japan, we observed significant interest in Turkish tea. In 2024, we organized a three-day event in Japan that included Turkish tea brewing workshops, brewing competitions, and tasting events, which garnered great attention. We remain committed to promoting Turkish tea globally. We are confident that in 2025, we will achieve even higher export figures for Turkish tea.”
