Turkish Airlines Ranks Third Globally in International Passenger Capacity and Cargo Market Share

In 2024, Turkish Airlines (THY) secured the third position worldwide among “network airlines” with a 3.4% share in the international passenger market, while ranking first in Europe. According to data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Turkish Airlines achieved this milestone by increasing its market share, solidifying its position as a global aviation leader.

“Proud for Our Country”

Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Eksi shared the news on social media, emphasizing the airline’s remarkable growth. Referring to IATA data, he stated:

“Turkish Airlines is soaring high. Ranking third globally is no small achievement. In 2012, we were 13th in passenger transport and 26th in cargo. Now, we have climbed to the third position. We are proud for our country.”

Turkish Cargo Also Rises to Third Place

Turkish Airlines’ cargo division, Turkish Cargo, also reached the third spot globally, securing a 5.7% market share. This significant achievement reflects the airline’s ongoing expansion and strong presence in both passenger and cargo transport worldwide.
