Turkish Airlines Resumes Flights to Afghanistan After Nearly 3-Year Hiatus

Turkish Airlines (THY) has reinstated its flights to Afghanistan after approximately three years since suspending operations following a management transition in August 2021.

The first THY aircraft touched down at Kabul International Airport, marking the resumption of services to the region. Officials from Turkiye’s Embassy in Kabul, representatives of Turkish institutions in Afghanistan, and officials from the Afghan interim government were present to welcome the flight.

THY’s Istanbul-Kabul route will now operate four times a week, with flights scheduled for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
