Index gains nearly 20 points from previous close
Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 2,392.34 points on Monday, up 19.99 points, or 0.84%, from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index fell 0.89% on Friday to close at 2,372.35 points with a daily trading volume of 35.2 billion Turkish liras ($2.2 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate decreased to 15.8783 as of 10.05 a.m. local time (0705GMT), from 15.8880 at last week’s close.
The euro/lira exchange rate stood at 16.8423 versus 16.7850,while a British pound traded for 19.9473 liras, up from 19.8830 at the last close.
Brent crude oil was sold for around $111.06 per barrel as of 10.05 a.m. local time, while an ounce price of gold was at $1,850.50.
