Turkiye’s automotive industry secures 52.78% of its first-half exports to Germany, France, the UK, Italy, and Spain, highlighting robust European market presence.
Turkiye’s automotive sector has achieved significant export success in the first half of the year, with 52.78% of its exports directed towards Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Spain. According to data compiled from the Uludag Automotive Industry Exporters’ Association and the Turkish Exporters Assembly, Turkiye’s leading export sector closed the first half with $17,701,161,000 in foreign sales, marking a 2.27% increase compared to the same period last year.
The industry’s top export destinations were predominantly European, with approximately 200 countries, free zones, and autonomous regions receiving exports during January to June. Among the top 10 export destinations, nine were European countries.
Leading the list, Germany received $2,435,115,000 in automotive exports, followed by France with $2,072,401,000. The United Kingdom ranked third with exports totaling $1,939,455,000, followed by Italy with $1,663,721,000 and Spain with $1,232,648,000.
Exports to these five European countries accounted for 52.78% of the sector’s total exports.
Significant export growth was also observed to Saudi Arabia and Australia. Exports to Saudi Arabia surged by 238%, increasing from $41,827,000 to $141,396,000. Similarly, exports to Australia saw a substantial 114.7% rise, climbing from $60,960,000 to $130,909,000 during the same period compared to last year.
The Turkish automotive industry continues to expand its global footprint, demonstrating resilience and competitiveness in international markets.
