Turkish Companies bandage the wounds in the earthquake zone with AFAD

After the “disaster of the century” earthquakes affecting 10 provinces centered in Kahramanmaras, companies provide cash aid to the region through AFAD.

Turkiye’s leading companies also participated in the aid mobilization initiated after the Kahramanmaras-centered earthquakes. Companies mobilized to heal the wounds of earthquake survivors with both in-kind aid to the region, including search and rescue, food, shelter, textile, communication, construction machinery, health equipment and fuel supply, as well as financial support.

Every day, new ones are added to the aid provided by the companies for the needs that may arise.

It is also seen that some of the companies, which coordinated with the relevant units of the state from the first moment of the earthquake, increased their aid in line with the needs that may arise in the region. Donations made through NGOs, especially AFAD, are increasing day by day.

₺550 million from Baykar to AFAD, ₺400 million from Cengiz Holding

Baykar became one of the first companies to donate ₺250 million in cash to the region through AFAD on the third day of the earthquake. Later, Baykar conveyed another ₺300 million in cash aid to AFAD on behalf of Baykar founder Ozdemir Bayraktar and Canan Bayraktar, thus donating ₺550 million in cash to AFAD to be used in the earthquake zone.

Cengiz Holding, on the other hand, mobilized all its subsidiaries, group companies, heavy equipment and technical team, as well as expert rescue teams working in mining enterprises, for search and rescue efforts from the first hours of the earthquake disaster.

In addition to all these works, Cengiz Holding decided to donate ₺500 million worth of support for earthquake zones and conveyed ₺400 million of this to AFAD.

₺102 million aid from TMSF

The Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) and the companies under the management of the SDIF started to work in cooperation with AFAD from the first day of the earthquake to support the urgent needs in the earthquake region, and provided ₺102 million in cash to AFAD. In this context, Koza Altın also participated in the aid campaign of AFAD with ₺35 million.

Samsung provided $1.5 million in cash support for earthquake victims through AFAD. In addition, the company supported the earthquake zone with chargers, tablets, white goods, portable ultrasound and temporary shelter solutions.

Akfen Holding, on the other hand, donated ₺10 million to AFAD for use in search and rescue works in the earthquake zone and to meet the needs.

Meanwhile, the Earthquake Aid Campaign, which was initiated with the coordination of AFAD, continues with intense support.
