Turkish companies will be provided with e-export to the US market

In cooperation with the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and the American Companies Association (AmCham Turkey), selected companies will be provided with mentoring services and these companies will have the opportunity to export to the USA.

According to the statement made by TOBB, the Association and the American Companies Association cooperated in order to support SMEs in making e-exports to the USA.

With the support of UPS, the companies that will be selected among the companies that apply will be matched with mentors. Market analysis will be carried out with the companies and it will be ensured that they export e-exports to the US market for the first time.

According to the project, potential companies in priority sectors will be determined. Strategic planning, consultancy and business development support will be given to these companies so that they can mature their e-export processes to the US market. Companies will come together with experienced teams in the field of e-export and actors who have just stepped into e-export, and become part of the cooperation network.

Companies that aim to e-export to the USA in sectors such as furniture, textile, ready-made clothing, machinery sub-industry, whose mentoring applications have been approved, will have the opportunity to review their current cross-border e-commerce processes, increase their business volumes and accelerate their processes.

Firms that will have one-on-one meetings with mentors will also increase their momentum in the US market by connecting with the Turkish Trade Center established by TOBB in Chicago, USA.

“WE WANT TO INCREASE TURKEY’S SHARE IN GLOBAL FOREIGN TRADE”

TOBB President Rifat Hisarciklioglu, whose views were included in the statement, stated that they continue to provide active support to entrepreneurs for new trade opportunities.

Emphasizing that they want to increase Turkey’s share in global foreign trade, Hisarciklioglu said:

“As TOBB, we are working to increase the participation of our SMEs, which are an indispensable element of economic development, in the global value chain and to improve our companies’ access to markets. By enabling our entrepreneurs to reach a larger audience directly, we aim to move them to the next level and benefit from the advantages of e-export. In this context, we identified the sub-sectors with high e-export potential to the USA with the American Companies Association. With this work we carry out to further develop bilateral trade between Turkey and the USA, we will ensure that our companies meet the US market with the e-export method.”

Representing more than 110 US companies with investments of more than $50 billion in Turkey, American Companies Association Chairman Tankut Turnaoglu stated that they aim to bring together small and medium-sized businesses targeting the US market with their members. Turnaoglu said, “As an association, one of our priorities is to enable Turkish companies to participate more in the global value chain. In this sense, we are carrying out the ‘e-Commerce Mentoring Program’ in cooperation with TOBB and with the support of our member UPS.”

Burak Kilic, General Manager of UPS Turkey, stated that the global e-export volume is expected to reach $2.4 trillion in 2025 and said, “The digital transformation we experience in exports and trade has accelerated in a dizzying way with this expectation. Businesses in Turkey can also be involved in this transformation. This program will open new doors to the participants in terms of e-export.”

On the other hand, while applications for the mentoring program start today, companies that want to apply for the program and benefit from the trainings must fill out the questionnaire at the address of “https://www.tobb.org.tr/TurkiyeSektorMeclisleri/anket” on TOBB’s website by 28 February.
