Turkish Finance Minister Şimşek: Industrial Production Signals Continued Economic Resilience

ISTANBUL — Turkish Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek said the latest industrial production figures point to the resilience of the country’s economy despite ongoing global uncertainties and tighter financial conditions.

Commenting on the recently released industrial production data, Şimşek noted that economic activity has continued to show strength, supported by the government’s disinflation program and balanced growth strategy. He emphasized that Turkey’s economic policies are aimed at achieving sustainable growth while gradually reducing inflation.

The minister said the government expects improvements in macroeconomic stability to continue as inflation eases and confidence strengthens. He added that the authorities remain committed to implementing policies that enhance productivity, boost competitiveness, and support long-term investment.

Şimşek also highlighted the importance of maintaining fiscal discipline and structural reforms to reinforce the country’s economic foundations. According to the minister, industrial production remains a key indicator of the real economy’s performance and reflects the resilience of Turkey’s manufacturing sector despite weaker external demand and global economic headwinds.

The government expects the ongoing disinflation process and reforms to create a more predictable investment environment, supporting industrial output and sustainable economic growth in the coming period.
