Turkish grains and legumes industry Exported worth 2,9 billion dollars of goods

Mahsum Altınkaya, the chairperson of  the Established Sector of Grains, Legumes, Oily Seeds and their Products of Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), lead the ‘’TİM’s Establishment of Grain Industry Meeting’’ via video conference. The export data under the influence of Covid-19 was discussed in the meeting where İsmail Gülle, the chairman of TİM also participated.

Altunkaya presented that the sector made an exports worth 2 billion 901 million 972 thousand dollars in the first 5 months of the 2020.

Exports to Middle East come first with a total worth of 1 billion 160 million 408 thousand dollars, exports to Africa come next with a worth of 658 million 876 thousand dollars and exports to European countries worth 374 million 177 thousand dollars.

Altunkaya also said that based on countries, the most grain exports is sent to Iraq with a worth of 516 million 757 thousand dollars and also emphasized the fact that Turkey exported to 204 countries and free zones.

Altunkaya added that based on product variety, pastry products are most preferred as an exportation with a worth of 821 million 84 thousand dollars.
