Major Investments Lead by Getir; AI, Gaming, and Fintech Among Top Sectors for Funding

In the first half of 2024, Turkish startups attracted nearly $587 million in investments, surpassing the total investment amount for the previous year. According to data compiled by the “Türkiye Startup Ecosystem Investment Report” from StartupCentrum, a total of $586.8 million was invested across 254 funding rounds during this period.

Leading the investment surge was Getir, which secured $250 million, making it the top-funded startup. Other significant investments included Colendi and Intenseye with $65 million each, Spyke Games with $50 million, and Midas with $45 million. The report highlights that the first half of 2024 saw substantial growth in investments below $100 million, with the total reaching $336 million, surpassing last year’s $313 million.

The report also noted the rise of artificial intelligence and gaming as key sectors for investment, while fintech and blockchain technologies continued to attract significant funding. Despite a reduction in mega investments, the Turkish startup ecosystem remains robust, with participation from both local and international investors.
