Turkish stock exchange closes higher to end 8-day losing streak

BIST 100 gains 38.85 points, or 0.82%, from previous close

Turkiye’s benchmark stock index closed at 4,752.24 points on Thursday, notching its eighth consecutive session of losses.

After starting the day at 4,720.15 points,Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index gained 38.85 points, or 0.82%, from Wednesday’s close of 4,713.39.

The index’s lowest value during the day was 4,479.69, while its daily high was 4,870.66 .

The daily trading volume was 118 billion Turkish liras ($6.27 billion), 46 stocks on the index posted gains and 54 were down during the day.

The price of gold was at $1,941 per ounce, while Brent crude oil stood at $81.42 per barrel at 6:25 p.m. local time (1525GMT).
