BIST 100 index gains more than 1.6% from previous close
Turkiye’s benchmark stock index closed at 5,322.65 points on Wednesday, rising 1.63% from the previous close.
Starting the day at 5,258.74 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index surged 85.32 points from Tuesday’s close.
The index’s lowest value during the day was 5,253.89, while its daily high was 5,350.71. The daily trading volume was 84 billion Turkish liras ($4.42 billion).
The price of an ounce of gold was $1,844.40,while Brent crude oil sold at around $83.44 per barrel as of 7.34 p.m. local time (1634GMT).
