Turkish stock exchange up by 3.45% at weekly close

BIST 100 index earns over 150 points during last transaction day of week

Türkiye’s benchmark stock exchange ended Friday at 4,580.67 points, soaring 3.45% from the previous close.

Starting the last transaction day of the week at 4,476.91 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index earned 152.68 points compared to Thursday’s close.

The index’s lowest value during Friday was 4,436.91, while its daily high was 4,605.29.

The total market value of BIST 100 was around 3.8 trillion Turkish liras ($190.9 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 56.5 billion Turkish liras ($2.8 billion).

During the day, 95 stocks on the index rose and five fell compared to the previous close.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,941.95, while Brent crude oil sold for around $76.97 per barrel as of 7 p.m. local time (1600GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 19.9665,the euro/lira exchange rate was 21.3690, and the British pound traded at 24.6335 Turkish liras.
