Turkish stocks up at Friday’s open

Benchmark index earns 16.57 points during opening session

Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Friday at 5.078,56 points, up by 0.33%, or 16.57 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed Thursday at 5,061.99 points, soaring 1.22%, with a daily trading volume of 57 billion Turkish liras ($3 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 19.0610 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 20.6330,while a British pound traded for 23.3970 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $76.06 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,989.65.
