Turkish Textile manufacturers are hopeful of 2022

Fikret Kileci, President of the Southeast Anatolian Textile and Raw Materials Exporters’ Association, said that they closed 2021 with record exports and that they will achieve a strong export figure this year.

Fikret Kileci, President of the Southeast Anatolian Textile and Raw Materials Exporters’ Association, announced that 22.7% of Turkey’s exports were made from the region last year. Kileci said that they broke a record in textile exports in 2021.

Noting that the Turkish textile and raw materials industry realized exports worth $10.1 billion with an increase of 39.3% in 2021, Kileci said, “On the other hand, $2 billion 298 million 514 thousand worth of textile products were exported from Southeast Anatolia region with an increase of 43%. Our share across the country was 22.7%. The total exports of our Union increased by 33% to $3 billion 671 million 885 thousand.”

Noting that the export of textile products has gained serious momentum in recent years, Kileci said, “As the production standards in the sector and the export of value-added products increased, the share of EU countries in our exports increased gradually throughout 2021. The virtual trade delegation application, which was organized for the German, Austrian and French markets, evaluated the potential it has in the production of both personal protective equipment and non-woven fabrics used in the production of these equipment.”

Kileci said that they closed the year 2021 with historical records and that they believe they will achieve a strong export figure and regional growth in 2022.
