The figures highlight the sector’s growing role in global automotive supply chains and reinforce Türkiye’s position as a net exporter of tires.

Exports of new rubber tires used in passenger cars, motorcycles, buses, trucks, and other vehicles reached their highest level on record last year. The sector’s exports had previously totaled nearly $1.7 billion in 2021, increased to $1.849 billion in 2022, then eased to $1.822 billion in 2023 and $1.781 billion in 2024 before rebounding sharply in 2025.

During the first four months of 2026 alone, tire exports generated $637.3 million, indicating continued momentum for the industry.

Europe Remains the Largest Market

European countries accounted for the largest share of Turkish tire exports. Germany was the leading destination, importing $336.4 million worth of tires from Türkiye in 2025. Italy followed with $177.9 million, while France ranked third with $116.7 million. The United Kingdom and Spain completed the top five export markets, receiving $99.9 million and $97 million worth of products, respectively.

Passenger Car Tires Lead Exports

Passenger car tires represented the largest product category, generating $865.5 million in export revenue. Bus and truck tires followed with $790.2 million, while tires for agricultural and forestry vehicles contributed $147.1 million.

Strong Demand for Racing Tires

Türkiye also recorded significant exports of racing tires. In 2025, racing tires worth $43.1 million were shipped to 24 countries. Italy was the largest buyer, accounting for $20.3 million in purchases. The United Kingdom and the United States followed with $5.9 million and $5.7 million, respectively. Together, the three countries represented nearly 74% of Türkiye’s total racing tire exports.

Industry Outlook

The latest figures underscore the resilience of Türkiye’s tire manufacturing sector despite fluctuations in recent years. With exports reaching a record level and demand remaining strong across Europe and other international markets, the industry appears well positioned to maintain its growth trajectory in 2026.
