Türkiye’s Ministry of Treasury and Finance raised TRY 79.08 billion through two government bond auctions held on Tuesday.
In the first auction, the Treasury reissued a four-year inflation-linked government bond with a maturity of 1,358 days and a semiannual real coupon rate of 2.63%. The auction generated a real simple interest rate of 5.75% and a real compound interest rate of 5.83%.
The nominal bid amount reached TRY 640.2 million, while nominal sales totaled TRY 190 million and net sales amounted to TRY 204.5 million. The Treasury also received a TRY 4 billion bid from public institutions and accepted the entire amount. Market makers submitted TRY 877 million in bids, of which TRY 450 million was sold.
Nine-Year Bond Draws Strong Demand
In the second auction, the Treasury reissued a nine-year fixed-coupon government bond with a maturity of 3,304 days and a semiannual coupon rate of 15.03%.
The bond was sold at a 32.49% simple interest rate and a 35.12% compound interest rate.
The auction attracted TRY 56.64 billion in nominal bids. Nominal sales stood at TRY 34.5 billion, while net sales reached TRY 36.43 billion.
Public institutions submitted TRY 4 billion in bids, all of which were met. Market makers placed TRY 57.38 billion in bids, with TRY 34 billion in sales allocated to this group.
Following the two auctions, the Treasury’s total borrowing amounted to TRY 79.08 billion.
