ANKARA — Türkiye’s Ministry of Treasury and Finance will carry out a direct sale of a two-year lease certificate (sukuk) on Tuesday as part of its domestic borrowing program, according to the ministry’s borrowing calendar.
The instrument will have a maturity of two years (728 days) and will provide lease payments every six months. The issuance will be conducted through the Treasury’s direct sale method rather than a public auction, allowing eligible institutional investors to purchase the security directly from the Treasury.
Lease certificates are Shariah-compliant financing instruments widely used by the Turkish Treasury to diversify its funding sources and broaden its investor base. The issuance forms part of the government’s regular domestic borrowing strategy aimed at meeting financing needs while maintaining efficient debt management.
The direct sale is one of the Treasury’s scheduled debt operations and follows the ministry’s published domestic borrowing calendar, which outlines the timing and types of securities to be issued throughout the year.
