Turkish Treasury to Hold Two Government Bond Auctions on Tuesday

ANKARA, Türkiye — Türkiye’s Ministry of Treasury and Finance will conduct two government bond auctions on Tuesday as part of its domestic borrowing program, according to the ministry’s published debt issuance calendar.

The first auction will offer a four-year, Turkish lira overnight reference rate (TLREF)-linked government bond with semiannual coupon payments. The security will be issued for the first time and has a maturity of 1,456 days.

The second auction will involve the reopening of a five-year fixed-rate government bond with semiannual coupon payments and a maturity of 1,743 days, allowing investors to purchase additional amounts of an existing security.

The auctions form part of the Treasury’s regular domestic borrowing strategy, through which the government raises funding in local financial markets to meet its financing needs and manage public debt. Market participants will closely monitor investor demand and borrowing costs for indications of financing conditions and interest rate expectations.
