Turkiye: $1.4 billion export from the electrical-electronics sector

The electrical-electronics sector achieved $1 billion 428 million of exports in November. The sector exported the most to the United Kingdom, Germany and Russia.

According to the information compiled from the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), the exports of the electrical-electronics sector, which was $1 billion 267 million in November last year, reached $1 billion 428 million with an increase of 12.6% in the same period of 2022.

Looking at the export distribution of the sector on the basis of countries, the highest export was made to the United Kingdom with $144.9 million in November. The sector’s exports to the UK decreased by 24.1% compared to the same period last year.

The United Kingdom was followed by Germany with a 20.3% increase and $125.5 million, Russia with a 191.2% increase and $78.3 million, and France with a 14.5% increase and $72.8 million.

Electric-electronics exports worth $541.4 million to EU countries

The region to which the electrical-electronics sector exports the most, based on country groups, was the European Union (EU) countries.

Exporting $541.4 million to EU countries in November of 2021, the sector realized an export of $565.6 million to the region with an increase of 4.5% in the same period of this year.

EU countries were followed by the Commonwealth of Independent States with an increase of 108.8% and exports of $214.1 million. Electric-electronic exports to African countries increased by 19.2% in November to $129.6 million.

Looking at the export figures of the sector on the basis of provinces, Istanbul was the province with the highest export volume in November with $759.6 million.

Istanbul was followed by Manisa with $195.1 million, Ankara with $89.1 million and Kocaeli with $85.1 million in electrical and electronics exports.
