Turkiye: $756 million income from dried fruit exports

The exports of the dried fruit and products sector in the first six months of the year increased by 10.6% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached $755 million 880 thousand.

According to the information compiled from the Southeastern Anatolian Exporters’ Associations (GAIB), Turkey’s exports of dried fruits and products are increasing day by day.

Export companies sold dried fruits prepared from products grown in the fertile soil of Anatolia to 149 countries and free zones in the January-June period of this year. The foreign trade volume of the sector, which earned $755 million 880 thousand in this period, increased by 10.6% compared to the same period of the previous year.

The most exported product of the sector was seedless raisins with $208 million 297 thousand. This product was followed by dried apricots with $168 million 370 thousand, pistachios with $111 million 457 thousand and dried figs with $103 million 853 thousand.

Aegean Exporters’ Associations ranked first in the export of dried fruit products. While exports of $393 million 657 thousand were realized by the members of this union, Southeastern Anatolia Exporters’ Associations, which ranked second, achieved foreign sales of $166 million 932 thousand.

Germany is the biggest market for Turkish dried fruits and products

In the said period, the highest amount of foreign sales was made to the European Union (EU) countries with $301 million 28 thousand. Among these countries, Germany ranked first with an export of $101 million 191 thousand.

England followed Germany with $75 million 975 thousand. The third country with the highest sales of dried fruits and products was the USA.
