Turkiye: All-time highest January-February exports to Spain

Turkiye realized the highest January-February export of all time to Spain with $1 billion 494 million. The chemical industry took the lead in the increase in exports.

Turkiye’s main market continues to break export records in Europe.

Although all sectors, from agriculture to industry, concentrate on alternative markets, they continue to work for better commercial activities in the main markets.

While Turkiye is using its export potential effectively, the demand for Turkish products from Europe continues to increase.

The steps taken to further the economic relations between the two countries in different fields contribute greatly to the commercial relations between the two countries. While Turkiye stands out in the diversification of suppliers of European manufacturers, Turkiye is among the important suppliers in Spain.

According to the information compiled from the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Turkiye realized the highest January-February export of all time to Spain with $1 billion 494 million.

While Turkiye’s exports to Spain increased by 5.5% in the January-February period compared to the same period of the previous year, Spain’s share in total exports was 3.9%.

While Spain is also the 7th country to which Turkiye exports the most, it became the 8th country in which Turkiye has increased its exports the most in terms of value, with $78 million 464 thousand.

Industrial products came to the fore

In exports to Spain, sectors within the industry came to the fore.

In the January-February period, the highest export sales to Spain were the automotive industry with $362 million 146 thousand, ready-made clothing and apparel with $359 million 115 thousand, chemicals and products with $264 million 431 thousand, electricity and electronics with $86 million 717 thousand, the olive and olive oil sector with $67 million 417 thousand.

The lowest exports to the country were ship yachts and services with $80 thousand, ornamental plants and products with $101 thousand, tobacco with $197 thousand, other industrial products with $220 thousand, and fresh fruit and vegetable sectors with $400 thousand.

The chemical industry led the increase in exports

Chemical substances and products made the highest increase in exports to Spain with $93 million 744 thousand.

Chemicals and their products were followed by olive and olive oil with an increase of $60 million 956 thousand, the automotive industry with an increase of $47 million 87 thousand, the air conditioning industry with an increase of $5 million 302 thousand , and the electricity and electronics industry with an increase of $3 million 752 thousand .

The air-conditioning industry sector made foreign sales of $44 million 112 thousand to the country in this period.

On the basis of provinces, $691 million 727 thousand were exported from Istanbul, $164 million 190 thousand from Bursa, $133 million 779 thousand from Izmir, $112 million 298 thousand from Kocaeli and $111 million 451 thousand from Sakarya.
