Turkiye and Czechia Boost Bilateral Trade to $6.5 Billion, Aiming for $10 Billion

Ambassador Egemen Bagis Celebrates 100 Years of Diplomatic Relations, Highlights Economic and Cultural Milestones

Turkiye’s Ambassador to Prague, Egemen Bagis, announced that the trade volume between Turkiye and Czechia has increased from $3 billion to $6.5 billion, with a new target of $10 billion. In an interview with Anadolu Agency (AA), Bagis reflected on the centennial of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

Highlighting the achievements, Bagis said, “When I arrived, our President set a goal to increase the bilateral trade volume from $3 billion to $5 billion. We not only met this target but exceeded it, reaching $6.5 billion. Our new goal is now set at $10 billion.”

Turkiye exports automobile parts and accessories to Czechia, and recent years have seen a significant development in economic relations. “Skoda’s market share in Turkiye has grown by over 8%, and more than 200 Turkish-produced trucks and buses were sold to Czechia last year. Additionally, Czechia’s largest holding company, PPF Holding, has acquired a 50% stake in TEMSA, one of Turkiye’s leading electric bus manufacturers,” Bagis added.

Further strengthening the ties, trams in Prague will soon be produced in Adana, Turkiye, for export to Central Asia. Czechoslovak Group (CSG), a leading defense company in Europe, has also established a munitions factory in Konya, Turkiye, to supply global markets.
