In 2021, 1 million 64 thousand 226 cars, 12 million 80 thousand 549 household refrigerators and freezers were produced in Turkey. The sales of the products produced by the enterprises totaled ₺4 trillion 213 billion 804 million.
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the annual industrial product statistics for 2021.
Accordingly, 1 million 64 thousand 226 cars, 12 million 80 thousand 549 household refrigerators and freezers, 1 million 171 thousand 608 combi boilers (hermetic), 80 million 568 thousand 682 liters of cologne, 243 million 581 thousand 864 tons of ready-mixed concrete and ₺5 billion 410 million 849 thousand 833 of medicinal drugs were produced in Turkey in 2021.
Sales from production amounted to ₺4 trillion 213 billion 804 million
The total sales of the products produced by the enterprises amounted to ₺4 trillion 213 billion 804 million. While this value was ₺2 trillion 495 billion 658 million in 2020, it was recorded as ₺2 trillion 36 billion 761 million in 2019.
14.2% of the said sales amount consisted of basic metal industry products. This was followed by food industry products with 12.4%, textile industry products with 8.4%, and motor vehicles, trailers (trailer) and semi-trailers (semi-trailers) manufacturing with 8%.
High-tech products accounted for 3% of sales from production
When the products produced in the manufacturing industry in 2021 were classified according to their technology levels, it was seen that the products in the high-tech class constitute 3% of the total sales value.
The total of the low and medium-low technology groups was 71.3%, and the share of the medium-high technology group was 25.6%.
When classified according to the main industry groups, 50.3% of the total sales value was composed of intermediate goods and 21.4% of non-durable consumer goods. The share of energy was calculated as 5.6%.
Last year, 8 billion 354 million 13 thousand 780 masks and 73 million 190 thousand 943 liters of cologne were sold from production. While the sales amount of the production of substances such as soap and organic surfactants was 372 million 914 thousand 772 kilograms, the disinfectant was 55 million 262 thousand 912 kilograms (kilogram of active substances). Similarly, the amount of sales made from the production of non-woven fabric, which is also used in mask production, was 695 million 671 thousand 603 kilograms.
