Turkiye: Banking sector loan volume reached ₺9 trillion 261.5 billion

The credit volume of the banking sector increased by ₺132 billion 631 million last week and reached ₺9 trillion 261 billion 513 million.

According to the weekly bulletin published by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA), the loan volume of the sector increased by ₺132 billion 631 million as of June 2. In the said period, the total loan volume increased from ₺9 trillion 128 billion 882 million to ₺9 trillion 261 billion 513 million.

Total deposits in the banking sector (including interbank) increased by ₺122 billion 25 million last week. The total deposits of the banking sector, which increased by 1.2% in the week in question, became ₺10 trillion 421 billion 94 million.

Consumer loans became ₺1 trillion 366 billion 261 million

According to the data, the amount of consumer loans decreased by ₺2 billion 615 million as of June 2 to ₺1 trillion 366 billion 261 million. Of these loans, ₺434 billion 175 million consisted of housing loans, ₺80 billion 87 million vehicle loans and ₺851 billion 999 million consumer loans.

In the said period, the amount of installment commercial loans increased by ₺14 billion 565 million and rose to ₺1 trillion 118 billion 546 million. Individual credit card receivables of banks increased by ₺22 billion 11 million to ₺721 billion 423 million. ₺376 billion 588 million of personal credit card receivables were in installments, and ₺344 billion 835 million were without installments.

Legal equity increased

According to the weekly data of the BRSA, non-performing loans in the banking sector decreased by ₺2 billion 138 million compared to the previous week and decreased to ₺166 billion 139 million as of June 2. A special provision has been set aside for ₺144 billion 609 million of the aforementioned non-performing loans.

In the same period, legal equities in the banking system increased by ₺386 million and reached ₺1 trillion 911 billion 371 million.
