Turkiye: Black Sea gas is aimed to be used in homes in May

TPAO General Manager Melih Han Bilgin made statements at Filyos Natural Gas Plant. Bilgin stated that the Black Sea gas is aimed to be used in homes in the first half of May.

Bilgin made statements regarding the latest situation in the Black Sea gas at the Filyos Natural Gas Processing Facility in Zonguldak.

Noting that security measures have been increased with the Black Sea gas being ready for commissioning at the facility, Bilgin said, “As of tonight, our security practices will begin at the highest level.”

Bilgin stated that the preparations for the “Black Sea Gas Commissioning Ceremony” to be held on April 20 at the Sakarya Gas Field are continuing and that the gas will be commissioned in phases.

“In 2028, daily production will be 60 million cubic meters”

Stating that the first phase will be commissioned after the ceremony, Bilgin said, “It is being considered in the first half of May,” regarding the date of delivery of Black Sea gas to homes.

Stating that the needs of the households will be met with the daily production of 10 million cubic meters of natural gas in the first phase, Bilgin said, “With Phase-2, we will meet 40% of Turkiye’s needs. When Phase-3 comes into play, the daily production will be 60 million cubic meters in 2028.”
