BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul rose to an all-time high with 5,636.52 points in the first half of the day.
The BIST 100 index hit an all-time high with 5,636.52 points, and as of 13.00, it became 5,632.75 points with a gain of 123.59 points and 2.24% compared to the previous close. The total transaction volume was ₺53.5 billion.
In the first half, the banking index gained 3.11% and the holding index gained 2.34%.
Among the sector indices, communication was the highest earner with 6.23%, and tourism was the only declining one with 1.47%.
Analysts said that risk perception remains strong in global equity markets due to the uncontrolled increase in the number of cases after China lifted the Covid-19 measures.
Stating that the macroeconomic data calendar, which will be intense throughout the week, is expected to have an impact on the direction of the markets, analysts stated that technically, the level of 5.650 in the BIST 100 index is in the position of resistance and 5.450 points in the position of support.
