Turkiye: Deposits of the banking sector increased by ₺63.2 billion

The total deposits of the banking sector increased by ₺63.2 billion in the week of 30 September to ₺8 trillion 328.1 billion.

Weekly money and bank statistics were published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT).

Accordingly, total deposits in the banking sector (including between banks) increased by ₺63 billion 226 million 134 thousand in the week ending September 30 and rose to ₺8 trillion 328 billion 127 million 379 thousand.

In the same period, TL deposits in banks increased by 0.67% to ₺3 trillion 698 billion 461 million 947 thousand while foreign currency (FX) deposits increased by 1.19% to ₺4 trillion 273 billion 618 thousand.

While the total FX deposits in banks amounted to $242 billion 156 million last week, $210 billion 332 million of this amount was collected in the accounts of domestic residents. Looking at the change in the total FX deposits of domestic residents, a decrease of $470 million was observed as of September 30, in parity-adjusted data.

The amount of installment commercial loans increased

Consumer loans in deposit banks increased by 0.74% last week to ₺914 billion 176 million 431 thousand. In the same period, commercial loans with installments increased by 1.27% to ₺798 billion 172 million 366 thousand, and the balance of credit cards increased by 3.23% to ₺514 billion 266 million 70 thousand.

Of the consumer loans in deposit banks, ₺324 billion 737 million 302 thousand consisted of housing, ₺23 billion 300 million 936 thousand vehicle and ₺566 billion 138 million 193 thousand other loans.

The total loan volume of the banking sector, including the CBRT, increased by ₺85 billion 828 million 381 thousand in the week ending September 30 and reached ₺6 trillion 570 billion 749 million 849 thousand. Total loan volume increased by 68.52% compared to the same period of the previous year.
