Turkiye earned $1.5 million from anchovy exports in 2 months

Anchovy was exported from Turkiye for $1 million 569 thousand 373 in the January-February period.

Eastern Black Sea Exporters Union Deputy Chairman of the Board Ahmet Hamdi Gurdogan said that anchovy was exported to 17 countries in 2 months of the year.

Stating that France leads the way in anchovy exports, Gurdogan said that Belgium and Spain follow France.

Gurdogan said that 303 tons of anchovy were exported in the January-February period, and a gain of $1 million 569 thousand 373 was obtained from these exports.

Drawing attention to the diversity of countries in exports, Gurdogan emphasized that different anchovies were sold to Sweden, Georgia, United Arab Emirates, Lebanon and Somalia than last year.

Gurdogan stated that $109 thousand 628 of anchovy exports from the country were carried out from Trabzon, and anchovies were exported to Germany, Sweden and Canada in 2 months from the city.

Pointing out that there was a 17% increase in anchovy exports from Trabzon compared to last year, Gurdogan said that anchovy exports were not at the expected level.

Gurdogan added that they always have high expectations from seafood and anchovy exports.
