It was reported that Turkiye’s exports of confectionery and chocolate confectionery products increased by 12% in the 11-month period compared to the same period last year, approaching $2 billion.
According to the statement made by the Aegean Exporters’ Association, the export growth of the confectionery, Turkish delight and halva sector, which has a history of hundreds of years in Turkiye, continues.
Turkiye’s exports of confectionery and chocolate confectionery products, which were $1 billion 735 million in the January-November period of 2022, increased by 12% to $1 billion 939 million in the same period this year.
Muhammet Ozturk, President of the Aegean Grains, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association, whose views were included in the statement, stated that the export of confectionery products increased to $1 billion 43 million and the export of chocolate confectionery products increased to $896 million.
Stating that the exports made through the unions showed a performance above the growth in the country, Ozturk stated that the USA, England and Iraq stood out as the most important markets for confectionery products, and Iraq, USA and Saudi Arabia stood out as the most important markets for chocolate confectionery products.
