Turkiye: Highest January-May exports of all time to Kazakhstan

Turkiye realized the highest January-May export of all time to Kazakhstan with $727 million 450 thousand.

In addition to Turkiye’s main markets, exports continue to break records in alternative markets as well.

Especially after the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, the importance of the alternative market increased, Turkish exporters started to become more active in these markets.

Constructive steps between Turkiye and Kazakhstan also contribute to the trade between the two countries.

The Kazakhstan Assembly approved the agreement with Turkiye on the simplification of customs controls last month.

The Kazakhstan Parliament adopted the draft law, which envisages the approval of the “Agreement on the regulation of information exchange between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Turkiye and on the simplification of customs control procedures”.

According to the information compiled by AA correspondent from the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Turkiye signed the highest January-May export of all time to Kazakhstan with $727 million 450 thousand.

Turkiye’s exports to Kazakhstan increased by 67.9% in the 5 months of the year compared to the same period of the previous year.

Kazakhstan was also recorded as the 6th country in which Turkiye’s exports increased the most in terms of value in January-May compared to the same period of the previous year.

The country’s exports increased by $294 million 243 thousand in this period.

Ready-to-wear and apparel industry exported the most to Kazakhstan

The ready-made clothing and apparel industry made the largest exports to Kazakhstan in the 5 months of the year, with $164 million 768 thousand.

Ready-to-wear and apparel industry was followed by chemicals and products with $102 million 907 thousand, automotive industry with $80 million 869 thousand, machinery and accessories with $69 million 778 thousand, and electrical and electronics industry with $44 million 59 thousand. Textile and raw materials with $34 million 162 thousand, cereals, pulses, oil seeds and products with $29 million 93 thousand, air-conditioning industry with $26 million 374 thousand, furniture, paper and forest products with $24 million 606 thousand, leather and leather products with $20 million 627 thousand.

Tobacco sector made the most exports to the country with 907.2%.

Automotive industry with 177.3%, leather and leather products with 124.6%, other industrial products with 100.8%, and ready-made clothing and apparel industry with 93.5% in the increase in exports.

In the January-May period, the tobacco industry sold $647,000 and other industrial products $445,000 to Kazakhstan.

Exports to the country were $431 million 842 thousand from Istanbul, $81 million 988 thousand from Ankara, $34 million 455 thousand from Bursa, $33 million 616 thousand from Gaziantep and $24 million 907 thousand from Izmir.
