Türkiye Imposes Provisional Measure on Aluminum Frame Imports from China

Ankara – The Ministry of Trade has imposed a provisional measure on imports of China-origin aluminum frames for photovoltaic panels following preliminary findings in an ongoing anti-dumping investigation.

The Communiqué on the Prevention of Unfair Competition in Imports, prepared by the Ministry, was published in the Official Gazette and has entered into force.

Preliminary Findings Completed in Anti-Dumping Investigation

According to the communiqué, the information and documents submitted under the application were reviewed by the Board for the Evaluation of Unfair Competition in Imports. The board concluded that there is sufficient evidence of dumping, material injury, and a causal link, justifying the initiation and continuation of the anti-dumping investigation.

Within the scope of the preliminary determinations of the investigation conducted by the Ministry, a decision was taken to apply a temporary safeguard measure on China-origin aluminum frames used in photovoltaic panels.

Security Deposit Requirement for Imports

Under the decision, customs administrations will collect security deposits at specified rates on imports of the product released for free circulation, without prejudice to other applicable legislation.

The provisional measures will remain in effect for a maximum period of six months, until the final decision of the investigation is published in the Official Gazette.

The move aims to prevent unfair competition and protect domestic producers while the investigation continues toward a final ruling.
