Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye’s reserves at 8-year high

Total reserves of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye rose to $128 billion 764 million in the week of December 9, reaching its highest level since January 2015.

Accordingly, as of December 9, the gross foreign exchange reserves of the Central Bank increased by $3 billion 509 million to $84 billion 810 million. Gross foreign exchange reserves were at the level of $81 billion 301 million on 2 December.

In the said period, gold reserves increased by $266 million and reached $43 billion 954 million from $43 billion 688 million.

Thus, the Central Bank’s total reserves increased by $3 billion 775 million in the week of December 9 compared to the previous week, from $124 billion 989 million to $128 billion 764 million. The aforementioned data pointed to the highest level since January 2015.

Net international reserves reached the highest level since the week of 12 November 2021 with $26 billion 756 million.
