$5 billion 443 million export from Istanbul Exporters’ Associations

Istanbul Exporters’ Associations (IIB), with its 7 exporters’ associations, exported $5 billion 443 million in the first half of the year.

According to the statement made by the Istanbul Exporters’ Association (IIB), Istanbul exporters sold products to 195 country markets in the first 6 months of the year and their share in the country’s exports was 5%.

In the first half of the year, IIB exported the most to Iraq with $365 million on value basis. Animal products, grains, pulses, oilseeds and their products were mostly sold to Iraq. After Iraq, IIB exported the most to USA, Germany, UK and Russia in terms of value.

In the exports made by IIB, grains, pulses, oilseeds, furniture, paper products to the USA, hazelnuts and their products to Germany, cereals, pulses, oilseeds and their products came to the fore. Furniture, paper and forestry products and grains, pulses, oilseeds and their products came to the fore in the United Kingdom, while grains, pulses, oilseeds and their products and furniture, paper and forest products came to the fore in Russia.

On the basis of country groups, the region to which IIB exports the most was EU countries with an increase of 4.6% compared to the same period of the previous year and with $1 billion 105 million.

IIB exported approximately $942 million in June with an increase of 2.7% compared to the same period of the previous year. In June, the most exports were made to the Faroe Islands, Iraq and the USA.

Istanbul Exporters’ Associations Coordinator Chairman Cem Seven, whose views are given in the statement, said, “With more than 20 thousand active members operating in different cities, Istanbul Exporters’ Associations performed successfully with exports of $5 billion 443 million in the first half of the year. We completed the month of June, which we closed with an increase in exports, full of activities.”
