Turkiye: Tea exports reached $20 million in 11 months

Tea exports from Turkiye in the January-November period of the year increased by 20% and reached $19 million 997 thousand 338.

Ahmet Hamdi Gurdogan, Vice Chairman of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Union, said that in 11 months, tea was sold to 110 countries from Turkiye.

Gurdogan stated that 5 thousand 702 tons of tea was exported in January-November 2022, and an income of $19 million 997 thousand 338 was provided. According to this, $16 million 722 thousand 923 were earned in exchange for 4 thousand 620 tons of tea, and the amount of exports increased by 23% and income by 20% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Gurdogan pointed out that Belgium, the United Kingdom and Germany are the 3 countries to which the most exports are made, and stated that during this period, $4 million 151 thousand 649 were exported to Belgium, $2 million 888 thousand 325 to the United Kingdom and $1 million 950 thousand 831 to Germany.

Drawing attention to the increasing demand for Turkish tea, Gurdogan noted that the demand in question increased exports and country diversity.
