Turkiye: The agricultural input price index increased by 7.45% in April

The agricultural input price index (Agriculture-GFE) increased by 117.31% on an annual basis and by 7.45% on a monthly basis in April.

Turkish Statistical Institute announced the Agri-GFE data for April.

Accordingly, the index increased by 7.45% compared to the previous month in April, increased by 117.31% compared to the same month of the previous year, increased by 59.01% compared to December last year and increased by 52.83% compared to the 12-month averages.

In the main groups, compared to the previous month, there was an increase of 6.76% in the index of goods and services that contribute to agricultural investment, and an increase of 7.54% in the index of goods and services used in agriculture. Compared to the same month of the previous year, the index of goods and services contributing to agricultural investment increased by 63.96% and the index of goods and services used in agriculture increased by 126.2%.

Veterinary expenditures ranked first in the lowest subgroups

According to the Annual Agri-GFE, 7 subgroups showed lower variation and 4 subgroups showed higher variation.

The subgroups with low annual increase were veterinary expenditures with 26.31%, seeds and planting materials with 40.33%, respectively. On the other hand, the subgroups with the highest annual increase were recorded as fertilizers and soil improvers with 241.57%, energy and oils with 189.26%, respectively.

According to the monthly Agricultural-GFE, 7 subgroups changed lower and 4 subgroups higher.

The subgroups with low monthly increase were machinery maintenance costs with 3.25% and agricultural pesticides with 3.74%, respectively. On the other hand, the subgroups with the highest monthly increase were calculated as building maintenance costs with 10.97%, fertilizer and soil improvers with 10.04%, respectively.

The only subgroup that showed a decrease compared to the previous month was determined as veterinary expenditures with 1.85%.
