Turkiye’s agricultural input price index increased by 0.72% monthly in December 2022

The agricultural input price index (Agriculture-GFE) increased by 103.14% on an annual basis and by 0.72% on a monthly basis in December 2022.

Turkish Statistical Institute announced the Agriculture-GFE data for December of last year.

Accordingly, the index increased by 0.72% in December 2022 compared to the previous month, by 103.14% compared to December of the previous year and by 116.26% compared to the 12-month averages.

Compared to the previous month, the index of goods and services used in agriculture increased by 0.33% and the index of goods and services contributing to agricultural investment increased by 3.64% in the main groups. Compared to the same month of the previous year, the index of goods and services contributing to agricultural investment increased by 94.35% and the index of goods and services used in agriculture increased by 104.42%.

Subgroups

According to the annual Agri-GFE, 7 subgroups showed lower variation and 4 subgroups showed higher variation. The subgroups with low annual increase were veterinary expenditures with 33.98% and machinery maintenance expenses with 42.63%, respectively. On the other hand, the subgroups with high annual increase were recorded as building maintenance costs with 120.6% and animal feed with 117.81%, respectively.

According to the monthly Agri-GFE, 3 subgroups showed lower changes and 8 subgroups showed higher changes. The subgroups with the highest monthly decrease were energy and oils with 8.19%, fertilizers and soil improvers with 1.87%, respectively. On the other hand, the subgroups with the highest monthly increase were materials with 4.49% and animal feed with 3.41%, respectively.
