Turkiye’s Banking Sector Credit Volume Reaches ₺13 Trillion 97.7 Billion

The credit volume of the banking sector increased by ₺198 billion 631 million last week, reaching ₺13 trillion 97 billion 656 million.

According to the weekly bulletin published by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA), the sector’s credit volume increased by ₺198 billion 631 million as of April 26.

During the said period, total credit volume increased from ₺12 trillion 899 billion 25 million to ₺13 trillion 97 billion 656 million.

Total deposits in the banking sector, including interbanks, increased by ₺57 billion 905 million last week, reaching ₺15 trillion 822 billion 866 million.

The amount of consumer loans reached ₺1 trillion 639.2 billion

According to the data, the amount of consumer loans increased by ₺16 billion 614 million to ₺1 trillion 639 billion 195 million as of April 26. Of these loans, ₺444 billion 356 million consisted of housing loans, ₺90 billion 653 million of vehicle loans and ₺1 trillion 104 billion 185 million of consumer loans.

During this period, the amount of installment commercial loans increased by ₺17 billion 858 million and reached ₺1 trillion 618 billion 388 million.

Banks’ individual credit card receivables increased by 1.8%, reaching ₺1 trillion 395 billion 122 million. Of the individual credit card receivables, ₺565 billion 394 million were installment debts and ₺829 billion 727 million were non-installment debts.

Legal equities increased

As of April 26, non-performing receivables in the banking sector increased by ₺1 billion 227 million compared to the previous week, reaching ₺203 billion 427 million. Special provisions were allocated for ₺163 billion 700 million of non-performing receivables.

In the same period, the legal equity capital of the banking system increased by ₺54 billion 860 million and reached ₺2 trillion 835 billion 84 million.
