
Index increases over 12 points from previous close
Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 2,066.62 points on Monday,up 12.77 points, or 0.62%, from the previous close.
The BIST 100 index rose 0.58% to close at 2,053.85 points on Friday, with a daily trading volume of more than 37 billion Turkish liras ($2.5 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate climbed to 14.87 as of 10.01 a.m. local time (0701GMT) for a 0.85% daily increase.
The euro/lira exchange rate was up 0.8% to 16.23 at the time, while a British pound traded for 19.36 Turkish liras, a rise of 0.63%.
The price of international oil benchmark Brent crude was at $110.14 per barrel at the time with a 2.3% loss.
