Index gains 20.5 points from previous close
Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 2,480.92 points on Thursday, gaining 20.49 points, or 0.83%, from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was down 0.14% to close Wednesday at 2,460.43 points, with a daily trade volume of 62 billion Turkish liras ($4.25 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 14.6036 as of 10.05 a.m. local time (0705GMT), up from 14.5950 at the midweek close.
The euro/lira exchange rate rose to 15.9415 from 15.8130, while a British pound traded for 19.1945 liras, up from 19.0550 at the previous close.
Brent crude oil was sold for around $107.4 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time, while the ounce price of gold was at $1,973.50.
