BIST 100 index gains nearly 37 points from previous close
Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 2,408.15 points on Thursday, up 1.56%, or 36.90 points, from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index dropped by 1.44% to 2,371.25 points at Wednesday’s close, with a daily trading volume of 30 billion Turkish liras ($1.7 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 17.2790 as of 09.55 a.m. local time (0655GMT) from 17.2010 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 17.6085 from 17.4960,while a British pound traded for 20.6618 Turkish liras, up from 20.4780 at the previous close.
Brent crude oil was up 0.4% to $101 per barrel.
