
BIST 100 gains 23.65 points from previous close
Turkiye’s benchmark stock index ended midweek at 2,230.15 points, up 1.07% from the previous close.
Starting the day at 2,212.78 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index gained 23.65 points from Tuesday’s close of 2,206.50 points.
The index’s lowest value during the day was 2,212.78, while its daily high was 2,233.53.
The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1.8 trillion Turkish liras ($123.3 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 33.89 billion Turkish liras ($2.31 billion).
During the third transaction day of the week,68 stocks on the index rose, 29 fell and three were unchanged compared to the previous close.
The highest trading volumes were posted by flag carrier Turkish Airlines, private lender Garanti BBVA, and defense firm Aselsan.
Financial leasing firm Is Finansal Kiralama was the best performer, with its shares up 9.94%, while stocks of automotive firm Karsan saw the steepest drop of 5.18%.
The price of an ounce of gold was $1,933.5 and Brent crude oil was at roughly $111.3 per barrel as of 6.30 p.m. local time (1530GMT).
